Day 1

Our cross country trip has started and day one was a day of goodbyes. Yesterday we shipped 25 boxes of belongings to Murphys and left only three suitcases, two computers, one bag of cooking liquids, Billy's XBox, and my bag of books. Billy shed a few tears at FedEx when shipping his TV and video games and I prayed my sewing machine and fabric would make this trip.

This morning we said goodbye to the leasing team at Towson and our two remaining coworkers. After leaving Towson we drove through Baltimore one last time including a stop to the famous business shown below.

After snapping a few photos of Charm City we stopped by Brewers Hill to visit another coworker.

Our third and final goodbye was to Hanover's Fall's Church job in Virginia. Billy and I had the grand tour and gave our final hugs. Everyone kept asking us how we were going to handle 6 weeks in the car together, but so far after one day we are still talking.

Our adventure ended in Richmond where we are spending our first night and touring all day tomorrow.

Billy and I had dinner at Kuba Kuba, a great authentic Cuban restaurant with a bit of funk (check out the fixtures below) in the Fan District.

After dinner we went to Legend Brewery for a night view of downtown. We chatted up the Brewmaster who was a walking encyclopedia of Richmond's history who helped us write our second day itinerary.

More updates to come.
