We couldn't go through Louisiana and not visit New Orleans. We had lunch and desert with Guy and Nikki, two of Billy's friend. Unfortunately the day was blistery and windy so it limited walking the French Quarter.
We had lunch at Coop's Place. It was a hole-in-the-wall joint where a bulldog roamed the restaurant but the food was true cajun. Billy and Guy had rabbit jambalaya and Nikki had seafood pasta. I tried to be healthy and have grilled chicken but learned that when in New Orleans you don't order anything but cajun if you want great food.
After lunch we walked to Cafe du Monde for beignets and coffee. This is a New Orleans tradition and a good one. We said goodbye to our friends until next visit.
